Accommodation: Choose a 2-bedroom apartment located in a quiet development in the North of Mauritius (Bain Bœuf) with spacious, modern and contemporary apartments and penthouses that open on the communal pool through a terrace or balcony. The 2-bedroom apartment has a quaint living room with a satellite TV. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, oven, microwave oven, dishwasher and washing machine.
All the rooms are air-conditioned and furnished with a King-size bed.
1st activity: You will go on a gastronomic, historical and cultural tour during which you will discover the world of tea, sugar, rum, vanilla and essential oils. The visit will begin at Domaine des Aubineaux, a colonial house from 1872 with ancient furniture, a magnificent exhibition of photos from the 19th and 20th century, a floral park and a maison of essences with its own shop. Then you will immerse yourself in the world of tea at Domaine de Bois Chéri where you will visit the manufacturing plant as well as the museum and taste the different teas made in the factory in front of a magnificent panorama. Finally, the tour will end at Domaine de Saint Aubin built in 1819, where you will discover the rum house, sugar factory, mill, an Anthurium greenhouse, a vanilla house and a magnificent botanical and spice garden.
You will have lunch at one of the three estates, of your choosing.
2nd activity: You will explore by speedboat Ile of la Passe, Ile du Phare and hopefully the île aux Flamants, which is only visible at low tide. A short stop will be made in the South, for a snorkeling break to admire the fish and corals. You will then head back to Ile aux Cerfs where lunch will be served. At the end of the meal you will be invited to participate in a sega dance.
3rd activity: You head to Trou aux Cerfs, an old volcano crater that recalls the origin of Mauritius. The visit continues by way of a sacred Lake, a Hindu religious spot, then on the road to Black River Park with breathtaking panoramas in close proximity to the highest peak of the island (828 m). A stop at the rum factory in Chamarel will follow, during which you will be introduced to the manufacturing process of local rums. A tasting of the different rums produced and sold at the rum factory will then be offered. You will finish the day with a visit of Chamarel waterfall and the famous 7-coloured earth.
