Accommodation : Go on an adventure in an ecological tent complex, which gives you the opportunity to be at a stone's throw from nature. This unique and magical place located on the side of the Bamboo mountain, in the pristine valley Bambou Virieux, is only 3 km from the sea. This stay will allow you to recharge and recenter with complete peace of mind. The tents are equipped with double beds and two or three single beds as well as a private bathroom and toilet.
1st activity: Discover the South Eastern Region in an eco-responsible way. You will leave by speedboat to discover Ile aux Aigrettes, which is home to one of the last remaining Ebony forests, which used to be abundant in Mauritius and home to the now extinct dodo. Listed as a a nature reserve, Ile aux Aigrettes is now a sanctuary for a number of indegenous plant, birds and reptile species. You will then head for Île de la Passe. Due to its geographical location, this small island has been of considerable importance since the beginning of Mauritian history.
2nd activity: The Chamarel tour begins in the hills, at " Le Chamarel " restaurant for a taste of Mauritian coffee with a magnificent view. You will head towards one of the most beautiful rum distilleries to learn the secrets of the brewing of this beverage, followed by a tasting of the different rums along pineapple in three ways. The tour will move on to the quaint village of Chamarel, where you will discover coffee fields, the double waterfall and 7-coloured earth. After a descent down Fantaisie Mountain which peaks at 240m, lunch will be served in a small restaurant typical of Baie du Cap, a tiny fishing village. You will then take the road again towards Bel Ombre on sandy tracks, to visit the château of Bel Ombre, an elegant 19th-century manor house before ending the tour the sugar factory of Bel Ombre.
3rd activity: The amber island, is an islet of 147 hectares wide located a few paddles away from the Mauritian Northeastern shoreline. Still pristine, the island has a primitive forest with a variety of rare trees and endemic animals. Discovering this little gem in a kayak is a happy experience without the noise of engines to disturb the serenity of the place. Interact with the peace and tranquility of the islet by meandering aboard a kayak, in the vast mangrove forest, sheltering many species of fish.
Back on land, head to the Northern tip of Mauritius, Cap Malheureux, where you can observe a small picturesque church with a red roof, with the turquoise of the Indian Ocean in the background. Then, you will head to the museum of l'Aventure du Sucre where you will be able to see the development of Mauritius through the lens of the sugar cane industry across different waves of migration. Finally, you will be taken to the estate of Labourdonnais, one of the jewels of Mauritian heritage, where you will visit a colonial house and its orchard. At the end of the day, a tasting of in-house products (fruit juices, fruit jellies and rum) will be offered to you.
