The Vanilla park is located in the South of Mauritius. Created in 1985, captive breeding programs have been implemented for a certain number of endangered species as well as the restocking of giant tortoises on the neighbouring island of Rodrigues where they had practically all disappeared.
The park is also populated by different species of crocodiles, iguanas and bats ... It also houses a small museum where fossils are exposed as well as an area with many species of African insects and butterflies.
You can even taste crocodile meat for lunch at the park restaurant if you would like to.
